So Puppy Showers are a THING?

My daughter and her boyfriend have just adopted a beautiful German Shepherd puppy. I am getting lots of questions and suggestions for gifts for the family's latest addition. There has even been talk of a puppy shower!

Puppy shower? I haven't even got used to the concept of a baby shower! Little Pampered Dog has a lovely article on how to throw the perfect puppy shower. and if you search Pinterest it has loads of pins on the subject.

I am amazed but I don't know why. After all for most of us dog owners we see our little furry friends as important members of the family and well why not have a puppy shower for the new arrival? That's not to say the new arrival needs to be a young pup. As LPD says in the article "every dog no matter the age" deserves a welcome party.

I'm guessing that for this ball of fun there won't be lots of guests but I'm sure his little-big brother Flash will be there. I think he suspects that his pack are up to something behind his back but I am fairly sure that he will still be the boss regardless of his diminutive size. No one has told him yet that he's a Shih Tzu and not the wolf that he thinks he is.

For Mother's Day recently, Flash asked me to make something nice for his mum. We put our heads together and came up with a personalised hot and cold refillable drinks bottle. Flash suggested the words "World's Best Shih Tzu Mum" and I got to work while he licked his nose and other more distant body parts clean. Mum was thrilled with the bottle but I suspect that Flash just wanted to have a cold drink when on his walks.

Apparently guests to puppy showers are expected to bring gifts so it's time to put on my thinking cap

and come up with something that suits the occasion.

I'm not sure if the name of the puppy is widely known yet. Can you guess what it's going to be? Also any ideas for what to create as a puppy shower gift?
